My journey through life thus far has brought me to this beautiful radio station.JazzRadio 101.9 is special not just for the great music we play but also for the atmosphere among our team. In 2005 I heard an on-air announcement for interns and applied. I had graduated in journalism and political science in my home city of Poznan, so it seemed a good opportunity to apply some of what I had earned. Of the small group of interns who joined at the same time, I was the only one who was not a native German-speaker so it is ironic that it was I who ended up working for JazzRadio as a broadcaster! I presented the evening show four nights a week live from our Studio at the Berlin Marriott Hotel, also doing "Deejane" work for JazzRadio at events. A lot of my friends in Poland listen online and I like to think I am contributing to breaking down some of the old prejudices that exist between Germany and Poland. In May 2008 I took over presenting JazzRio! - every Saturday from 12 noon - 6 pm. If you listen to this show you probably know how much I love Berlin. Indeed, what could be more `Berlin' than a Polish presenter speaking German about Brazilian music? Joanna.R
